University
VNUHCM - University of Information Technology (UIT) is a public university founded in 2006. As part of the Vietnam National University of Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM), UIT is committed to training high-level information technology (IT) professionals to contribute to the development of Vietnam's IT industry. Meanwhile, it conducts scientific research and teaches advanced IT. In particular, it focuses on application to promote the country's industrialisation and modernisation.
UIT's core values of "Exquisite - Innovation - Enthusiasm" shape what it operates and develops. The motto also helps to map UIT as the top university in the field of IT in Vietnam, and the place for its students to be equipped in all aspects, such as knowledge, professional skills and attitude towards life, to serve the public community and become dynamic - courageous - confident citizens to integrate with the international community.
VNUHCM - University of Information Technology
Its programs ranging from undergraduate to graduate level are tailored to fit in the diverse learning and research needs and to keep pace with societal requirements to provide human resources in the field of ICT. UIT offers a total of 10 engineering bachelor's degrees and 4 master's degrees. The total number of undergraduate, masters and doctoral students is currently over 7,000.

The Faculty
For IS:link students, the Faculty of Information Systems (FIS) is relevant. The Faculty consists of three departments: the Department of Management Information Systems, the Department of Intelligent Information Systems and the Department of E-Commerce. FIS offers both regular and advanced undergraduate programs in Information Systems and E-Commerce. In December 2019, the FIS started offering master's degrees in information systems.
The Faculty of Information Systems aims to develop the IT sector and human resources. The faculty offers first-class educational programs that meet the demands of the information systems labor market. The major in Information Systems is the first to be implemented in the combined Bachelor of Science - Master of Science program (BS-MS program) at UIT since the academic year 2022-2023.

Student life
The vibrant social and cultural scene at the university complements the atmosphere of serious study in the lecture halls. VNUHCM students can also become involved in community service activities such as eliminating illiteracy among rural people, Old Computer - New Knowledge, Green Summer, Green Sunday for Ho Chi Minh City, student music festivals, and other social activities.
Campus life
With a campus covering a total area of 643 hectares and developed based on a modern university town model, VNUHCM is one of the largest educational institutions in Vietnam.
VNUHCM's dormitory and guesthouse system provides accommodation for approximately 60,000 local and international students and professors. Students living in VNUHCM dormitories also benefit from various types of services such as food courts, cafeterias, medical centers, post offices, computer labs, sports clubs, fitness centers, cinemas, etc.
UIT has over ten student-run clubs and societies covering a range of sporting, cultural, community, recreational and social interests. The club program offers you the opportunity to build strong networks and develop a range of skills including teamwork, communication and leadership.
Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is located approximately 1,760 kilometres south of Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. It is the largest city in Vietnam with a population of more than 8 million in an area of 2095.5 square kilometers (908 square miles). It's a bustling, dynamic and industrious center, the economic capital and cultural trendsetter. HCMC, commonly known as Saigon, the old nickname is still used by both Vietnamese and foreigners.
As a city that embraces both traditional and modern beauty, HCMC is a popular destination of interest for every generation with different characters.
HCMC is the major tourism center in Vietnam, attracting a large number of visitors to Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City has various attractions such as Notre Dame Cathedral an ancient architectural monument. Incense Thien Hau Pagoda is dedicated to Lady Thien Hau, the sea goddess who left behind two giant turtles to keep an eye on things in her absence. Quan Am Pagoda, the oldest pagoda in the city, and Phung Son Tu Pagoda, dedicated to the God of Happiness and Virtue.
The city's most important museums include the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Museum of Vietnamese History and Revolution, the Museum of War Remnants and the Cu Chi Tunnels, a system of museums.
