University
The University of Jyväskylä was founded in 1863 and teaches about 14,700 students with 2,600 employees. It is strongly research-oriented and makes a significant contribution to scientific publications.2
A far-reaching goal of the University is to contribute to the building of a sustainable society through research into learning, well-being and fundamental natural phenomena. To this end, the University divides its strategy into five key points:3

University of Jyväskylä
The university imparts knowledge in the fields of education, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences as well as sports and health sciences, economics and business administration. It also maintains close relationships with international and national research, business and innovation communities. In addition to various course options in English, exchange students can also apply for two-year programs and obtain a Master's degree.4
The University of Jyväskylä has seven faculties:

The Faculty
The Faculty of Information Technology currently has around 2690 students. The goal of the faculty is to train qualified IT experts for the challenges and the use of IT technology in the fields of business, health, sports, science, etc. Currently, the focus is on knowledge transfer in the following areas: data systems, scientific computing and data analysis, cyber security, entertainment, games and learning.
The research focus of the faculty lies in the following areas:5

Student life
Student life takes place on three campuses:
The Seminaarinmäki campus, which is located about one kilometer from the city center, the Mattilanniemi campus by Lake Jyväsjärvi and the Ylistön channel on the lakeside opposite the Mattilanniemi campus.
For IS:link students, the Mattilanniemi Campus is especially important, as it is home to the Faculty of Information Technology.6
Campus life
The city offers various possibilities to move around. Be it by local bus, long distance buses, bicycle or train, where especially students can enjoy discounts.7
Organizations such as the Central Finland Student Housing Foundation, KOAS and Kortepohja student village - Soihtu offer accommodation and serve as first points of contact for exchange students.8 The campus offers various sports facilities: From aerobics, snowboarding, to various ball sports, everything is available.9
City of Jyväskylä
Jyväskylä is the perfect place to pursue your hobbies or discover new hobbies for yourself. For example, there is the possibility of music education at various institutions, such as Artmus (music and dance school) or participation in choirs and orchestras. For those who do not want to miss theater and cinema, there are also numerous offers available. Not only in the city itself, but also on the campus there are for example the "Kampus Kino" or the Jyväskylä University Student Theatre.10
